@Jonny: Sorry for replying to you only now Jonny Blaze. Thanks for the info on the pads... I guess now I don't know if the pads or the x-clamp fix were responsible for fixing my XBox, so I'm recommending everyone to do both.

Jason, the pads work, the glue my have f**ked it, you should have used thermal paste, or thermal adhesive pads either way, yyou cant just stick the pad on, you have to over heat the xbox again (towel trick or hair dryer, then the pads prevent further heat disruption...ah well youve xclaped, so its all done and dusted..

Hi K,

Nice to hear from you. I tried the hair dryer trick as well but used a heat gun instead. It too was only temporary.

My last and final attempt was to use the X-Clamp fix which has worked for me so far. It's been about 2 months and things are still working.

Then again, I've stopped playing games on my XBox360 and have used it as a DVD player instead! Seems like the only time I'm interested in the Xbox is when it's broken.

Hey Jason, followed you through my stats engine.

Yeah, the video we posted a while back is only a temporary fix.. Some people are also using a hair dryer to heat the board inside the machine.. You might want to google that ;)

And as for myself, I've solved the problem once and for all.. I bought a PS3 ;)

Cheers.
