Morningstar is an independent provider of managed funds investment information in Australia.
They publish investment information and tools through software, print services and the internet. My team is involved with the development, enhancement and support of these web-based applications.
These applications are developed with a mixture of technology, mainly .NET, ASP, SQL Server, Java and XML/XSL.
At Veo, my role involved researching and implementing IT-related technical solutions to help the company cut costs, increase efficiency and improve sales. I worked closely with the following groups:
Sales & Marketing:
To improve Veo.com's image, sales and presence on the internet
through:
Technical Support / Customer Service:
To enable these 2 units to respond to customer's queries and
needs quickly and professionally by:
My role at First Internet Alliance (FIA) focused mainly on providing web-related consultancy services.
Two of my major projects were:
Chrontel intranet
Wearnes Technology
I also wrote a technical specification document for their First Intelligent Array business which involved setting up an internet storage backup solution.
At Powerserve, I was involved with a lot of client facing consulting work, conducting pre-sales presentations/workshops to gather client requirements, and writing up technical documents of recommended solutions.
However, my role mostly involved the actual development of corporate/e-Commerce web sites for my clients. This was not only limited to the actual coding of the web pages, but also the database design/setup, coding of business validation rules, interfacing with other systems, and server set-ups.
I was hired by Wearnes Technology on a part-time basis to identify and co-ordinate any investment opportunites in Australia.
Wearnes made an investment in a dot.com company called Bazcan, which was an online real estate portal that provided listings of commercial properties in Australia for sale or lease.
I was transferred to the Internet Services department after working in Cards Delivery Systems for 2 years.
Here I developed, enhanced and supported the Westpac Home Loans section of the bank's corporate web site.
I joined WBC straight after graduating from university. After completing the initial graduate program, I was placed in the ATM Development/Support team of the Cards Delivery Systems department.
I worked on the different systems that the whole ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) ran on, including those that handled, authorised and routed transactions to those that monitored the status of each ATM on the network.
My work involved developing new functionality as well as bug fixes. 24x7 support was also part of the job.
